Palm Springs Unified School District’s new Procurement Director wanted to achieve a personal goal: bring the department up to date. She started by partnering with OpenGov, the leader in modern cloud software for our nation’s cities and school districts, for eProcurement software.

The school district, located in the Coachella Valley desert region of Southern California, has more than 2,000 employees and nearly 30 schools. When the new Procurement Director came to the district, she realized the department’s procedures were severely outdated. In a quest to completely modernize the department, she invested in OpenGov Procurement.

The procurement team is looking forward to several new processes with OpenGov Procurement that include:

  • Digitizing records to support paperless initiatives. OpenGov’s software allows teams to go 100% binder-free. Gone also are the days of back-and-forth emails, stacks of paper, and uploading or downloading documents, giving staff more time for strategic initiatives.

  • Automating solicitation development. The RFx process is completely automated, allowing staff to collaborate, build solicitations quickly, export reports, and receive automatic alerts.

  • Simplifying the vendor bidding process. Using an intuitive Vendor Portal, suppliers will enjoy being guided seamlessly through the bid process, leading more vendors to respond to more solicitations.

The Palm Springs Unified School District joins more than 1,100 public sector organizations leveraging OpenGov to revolutionize work processes with cloud-based software designed specifically for the needs of government.
