How to Fix a Coolant Leak?

  • Coolant Leakage in Radiator: You can seal the leakage by soldering if the radiator is made of brass or copper. If it is made up of Aluminum, which is mostly found, you should use epoxy glue or replace the radiator.

  • Coolant Leakage in Heater Core: In this case, for temporary sealing, you can use liquid, but for the permanent, you have to dismantle the HVAC system of the engine. Furthermore, it is better to replace the heater core. Coolant Leakage in Water Pump: The only solution to this kind of leakage is to assemble a new water pump replacing the old one.

  • Coolant Leakage in Hose: If you find the coolant hose is leaking, it shows you need to replace it. Because it is the only best solution to overcome the coolant hose leaking.

  • Coolant Leakage in Expansion Plug: For this kind of leakage, you can fix it with the help of epoxy, which can work as permanent as well. In case if it does not work as permanent, you should replace it.

  • Coolant Leakage in Coolant Reservoir or Tank: Most of the time, it overflows due to high pressure, but if you find leakage, it is better to replace it.
