Sometimes people think that if they are not lucky enough to be born rich, to have their own business or a prestigious position, then all efforts to become rich are in vain.In fact, this is not the case. You just have to put in the effort, monotonously every day and a little bit at a time. It takes discipline and clear goals. And then you will notice that even the smallest small successes and little things in life will help you move forward in terms of finances, building up your income level and overall financial well-being.
In fact, it is the "little things," unnoticeable at first glance, that can make us much richer and more successful. So what are these "invisible companions of wealth"? About this we asked to share with our readers experts from the blog about self-development Optimist.pw.
1. Choose your career not only by the money factor, but also by your talent
When choosing a profession and a job you should ask yourself questions: "What will I be in five years? And in 10 years? What do I want to get out of this job besides money? What are my strengths?".
You must focus all of your efforts on developing your strengths and skills, not combating your "weaknesses". It is impossible to be successful at everything. God created us to be different.
This advice may seem quite obvious and even trivial to you. However, its practical value does not decrease in any way! After all, it is important not only to know your strengths and talents, but also to apply them on a daily basis.
Surely you have met such people more than once - they were able to eradicate their "weaknesses", as a result of which they turned into the usual "average" without a zest, ambition and visible achievements.
Remember: to climb high in your career you need all your strength, not weakness. So figure out your "strengths," and then focus on developing them.
2. Appreciate your money, because it buys you freedom, health, assets and wealth
Think carefully three times before you spend your money on "passives," trinkets and other trappings of the "nice life".
Strive to make your money work "for you" and "instead of you". Give it a chance to make your family rich - instead of making rich the family of the banker who tempted you with alluring advertisements to take a loan from him. At the same time, don't hold on to your money like "a dog to a bone". Enjoy your life (within your budget, of course).
Start investing some portion of every paycheck you receive. You don't need to have a degree in finance, read all the books on Warren Buffett, or have a sizeable inheritance to do this. Just make a good habit of buying currencies, index funds, and other assets every month. Let your money make your family very rich!
3. Get rid of the long to-do list
Yes, there is no doubt that such "to-do lists" simplify our lives by bringing order (or at least the appearance of order) to them.
However, the first thing you should do is focus your time and energy on the 3-4 most important tasks. Do the rest on a "residual principle".
4. Set yourself an interesting goal
Think about what you want to accomplish in the next year:
- Get a promotion?
- Start a business?
- Run a marathon?
- Take your family somewhere special on vacation?
The meaning of such goal-setting is to give yourself and your family something great and very good.
It is the pursuit of new goals that makes us grow personally and professionally. It is new goals that "transform" us into a completely different person - capable of conquering a high-level bar.
Important: If you're not happy with your life, it's only because you're not changing. You're not growing. You are stuck. You're not making progress in life.
5. Keep your body toned
Stay physically active. Even if you have very little free time.
Here's what the latest recommendations from scientists look like:
- 2.5 hours per week of moderate-intensity activity (e.g. brisk walking) + 1.5 hours of high-intensity activity (e.g. jogging or swimming);
- regularity is important (it is better to walk for 15-20 minutes every day than to go for a 3-hour workout once at the weekend)
Find types of exercise that you enjoy. And you'll quietly start doing them regularly. This will contribute to greater health, activity, and productivity. And that means it will be easier for you to make money.
