  • Take a course in motorcycle safety operation from a recognized provider.

  • Make a scheduled visit to your state's Department of Motor Vehicles.

  • Please bring your safety course completion certificate with you to your scheduled appointment.

  • To add a motorbike endorsement to your current driver's license, you'll need to get a new license.


You can get a motorbike endorsement on your Colorado driver's license once you've fulfilled the requirements. One can get a motorbike endorsement in one of two ways:

  • You can ride a two- or three-wheeled motorbike with the "M" endorsement.

  • The "3" endorsement, which is required to ride tricycles.

  • The minimum age to receive a motorcycle instruction permit is 16. To get a motorcycle endorsement on their license, drivers under the age of 18 must have held their motorcycle instruction permit for at least a year.
